💔July is Bereaved Parents Awareness Month💔
Bereaved Parents Awareness Month is a month dedicated to raising awareness of the support necessary when one endures the loss of a child. Bereaved Parents Day will take place on Wednesday, July 3rd, to raise awareness for all parents who have lost a child of any age and from any circumstance. This day of support was initiated in 2020 by the UK charity A Child of Mine after they realized there wasn't a specific day honoring bereaved parents from all walks of life. The theme this year is "Love Lives On". The aim is to unite every bereaved parent from all walks of life and to break the silence around loss. Sadly, babies and children die, but it's time to stop the taboo and start talking about death and loss and show up with empathy for bereaved parents. Please join us to help spread the message, keep the conversation going, and show the bereaved parent community that they are NOT alone. Participate by lighting a candle on Wednesday, July 3rd, at 7:00 PM in your timezone to remember all of the children who have lost their lives too soon. If you would like to share a photo on social media to show your support, please use the hashtags: #nationalbereavedparentsday2024 #bereavedparentsday2024 #achildofmine #LoveLivesOn #NBPD24 Let's come together to honor and support parents who have faced the unimaginable loss of a child by spreading love and compassion. Let's raise awareness, foster understanding, and provide a community of comfort and healing. Share stories, lend a listening ear, or simply light a candle to show that no one has to grieve alone. If this day is difficult for you, for any reason, be extra kind and soft with yourself. Sending lots of love and wishes for a gentler Mother's Day than expected to all feeling tender from loss. The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting on the 2nd Sunday in December unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit on December 13th, 2020 at 7:00 pm local time around the world, hundreds of thousands of people commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon. Now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the annual WCL, a gift to the bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends, creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone. TCF’s WCL started in the United States in 1997 as a small internet observance and has since swelled in numbers as word has spread throughout the world. Hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held, and thousands of informal candle lightings are conducted in homes, as families gather in quiet remembrance of children who have died and will never be forgotten. You can join in with the TCF virtual worldwide candle lighting memorial service on Dec 13th for EST, CST, Mountian & PST Zones. Register now to attend the candle lighting at 6:45 PM for each time zone: https://tinyurl.com/TCFcandle |
