Grief and Happiness Alliance Movie Club
Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 9:00 HST / 12:00 PM PDT / 3:00 PM EDT The Grief and Happiness Alliance hosts its “Movie Club” as a way of facilitating conversations about grief and mental health through the lens of popular movies and TV shows. Join them for a virtual discussion of Lilo and Stitch on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 9:00 HST / 12:00 PM PDT / 3:00 PM EDT. Watch the movie on your own and then join them for a discussion on Zoom! Movie Summary: A tale of a young girl's close encounter with the galaxy's most wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog," whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren't in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith and unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch's heart and gives him the ability to care for someone else. May 16, 2023 at 8:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm PT When grieving, it's really important to feel supported. Yet, it's often very difficult to get the support you need. Sometimes it seems easier to do grief in isolation - not because it's easier to manage hurt and emotional pain - but because it's easier to not put up with people who disappoint or let you down as you grieve and mourn. If this resonates with you, please feel invited to a FREE webinar May 16th at 8pm ET / 5pm PT. “Grieving in Isolation” will explore why grief feels so isolating and how to feel less alone. Reid Peterson, creator of the Grief Refuge App, shares his thoughts on why grief feels so isolation and how to feel less alone in grief. Grief Refuge want to make sure you have some community as you grieve and they hope you join them on this webinar to for some comfort throughout your difficult journey. No shame. Just support and some connection. Please reserve your spot for the webinar at https://tinyurl.com/GriefIsolation (This webinar will not be recorded to honor the privacy of all attendees) International Bereaved Mother's Day Ceremony
