Ambiguous Loss & How to Help Children Cope with Uncertainty Monday, February 7th, 2022 from 6:30 pm- 8:00 PM EST
Ambiguous Loss & How to Help Children Cope with Uncertainty with Beth Tyson - Webinar Replay
Do you know or work with children who:
 - Are in foster care or being raised by grandparents?
- Are separated from their parents for long periods of time?
- Have parents with substance abuse?
- Were unable to attend a funeral or grieving ritual for a loved one?
- Have a caregiver or loved one who is missing?

These are just a few common examples of ambiguous loss, which is defined as a loss with unclear boundaries. This lack of closure and rituals around the complicated experience of ambiguous loss can exacerbate behavioral health challenges for children. Please join this webinar to learn how ambiguous loss impacts children and what adults can do to help them manage their constant questioning and uncertainty. It is hosted by Deborah Willett and the Coatesville Center for Community Health. The webinar will include a mental health presentation with psychotherapist, author, and childhood trauma consultant, Beth Tyson.

Asking For Help When You Are Grieving FREE Webinar Presented By TAPS
Asking For Help When You Are Grieving FREE Webinar Presented By TAPS
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) understands and is here to walk beside you along
your grief journey.

If you need a compassionate, resourceful listener, TAPS will be there for you. Call
their 24/7 National Military Survivor Helpline at 800-959-TAPS (8277).
Day or night, a member of their team will answer and be ready to connect with you. Join TAPS.org for their FREE webinar, "Asking For Help
When You Are Grieving,"
There are many reasons it can be difficult to ask for help when we need it, and grief
can make it more challenging. There could be fear that we are bothering someone with our problems.
Maybe grief has taken too much energy and we can't figure out what we need or how to reach out. If a prior request for help or support was met with unhelpful or hurtful responses, we may hesitate to ask again.
Join Dr. Ken Doka for this webinar as he explores these realities and offers useful exercises and ideas to
both ask for and offer support when someone is grieving.

Contact the TAPS Institute via email at Institute@taps.org or call 1-800-959-8277 with questions.

Healthy Remembrance Memorial Ornament Grief Art Workshop
The holidays are upon us and it is extra important to take intentional time
to care for yourself and to remember and honor the love ones you've lost.
Grief always seems to tougher around the holidays, but the chaos and isolation of 2020 is unlike anything we've ever faced. That's why Danica Thurber
at Project Grief put together this Healthy Remembrance Memorial Ornament grief art workshop. In this workshop you'll learn how to make a beautiful ornament that contains hand-written memories.  The trouble is that the holidays are here, but our lost loved ones not. It can be tempting to either
push thoughts of a lost loved one away OR sink into the depths of despair.
That’s why doing something productive - making something with your hands! - can be so helpful. This ornament is made out of a toilet paper roll.
Before making the snowflake, you’ll have time to reflect  and write a memory or a letter to your lost loved one. Watch it and participate for FREE.
