💔July is Bereaved Parents Awareness Month💔
Bereaved Parents Awareness Month is a month dedicated to raising awareness of the support necessary when one endures the loss of a child. Bereaved Parents Day will take place on Wednesday, July 3rd, to raise awareness for all parents who have lost a child of any age and from any circumstance. This day of support was initiated in 2020 by the UK charity A Child of Mine after they realized there wasn't a specific day honoring bereaved parents from all walks of life. The theme this year is "Love Lives On". The aim is to unite every bereaved parent from all walks of life and to break the silence around loss. Sadly, babies and children die, but it's time to stop the taboo and start talking about death and loss and show up with empathy for bereaved parents. Please join us to help spread the message, keep the conversation going, and show the bereaved parent community that they are NOT alone. Participate by lighting a candle on Wednesday, July 3rd, at 7:00 PM in your timezone to remember all of the children who have lost their lives too soon. If you would like to share a photo on social media to show your support, please use the hashtags: #nationalbereavedparentsday2024 #bereavedparentsday2024 #achildofmine #LoveLivesOn #NBPD24 Let's come together to honor and support parents who have faced the unimaginable loss of a child by spreading love and compassion. Let's raise awareness, foster understanding, and provide a community of comfort and healing. Share stories, lend a listening ear, or simply light a candle to show that no one has to grieve alone. Mother's Day for Motherless Daughters Call
May 13, 2023 Mother's Day weekend can bring up all kinds of feelings for a woman whose mother has died: sadness, longing, anger, loneliness, confusion, hopelessness, and more. We make room for all of them each year on their annual Mother's Day for Motherless Daughters call. Please join Hope Edelman and Claire Bidwell Smith on Saturday, May 13 at 1 PT/4 ET for a FREE, virtual Mother's Day weekend event for motherless daughters. Women worldwide will come together in sisterhood and solidarity for 60 minutes of discussion and Q&A, a toast to all your moms, and their signature Circle of Remembrance. This year's topic is "Connecting with the Mother Energy Inside You." Hope and Claire will share ideas for self-nurturing and hear from members of the larger community. Stay for an additional 30 minutes of open conversation at the end to connect with women of all ages and backgrounds who share this profound life experience! Last year's event brought nearly 500 women from dozens of countries onto the screen together. You'll be welcomed as part of a sisterhood no one wanted to join, yet one that can offer you comfort and support this holiday weekend. This event is free and open to women who lost a mother to death at any age. If you can't make it, be sure to register anyway, as they will send out the replay within 24 hours of the event. Register, and you'll receive information by email about how to join the event on May 13. Gathering Hope is a collective experience for bereaved mothers, held each October to both remember our children and honor our unique motherhood. As fellow survivors, they invite you to join them for powerful speakers, uplifting worship, and a sacred, intimate atmosphere where you are regarded as a truly honored guest. Inspired by Isaiah 61, we are excited to share this year’s theme, BEAUTY FOR ASHES. "He has sent me to...bind up the brokenhearted...to comfort all who mourn...to give them a crown of beauty in place of ashes..."Isaiah 61:1-3. Gathering Hope has hosted an annual Gathering for miscarriage, stillbirth and infant loss survivors since 2015. This year, they are thrilled to announce that we have THREE different ways where you can connect with the people who understand you most…other moms. 1. Their first ever FULL DAY CONFERENCE! You will experience worship, be encouraged by guest speakers, intentionally connect with other women, attend breakout sessions, meet with specially selected vendors and MORE. 2. Attend Gathering 2022 Virtually. You’ll be able to simultaneously view the worship session, our speakers *and* gather in breakouts rooms with other attendees, just like we do at our in-person Gathering. 3. Gather with other loss moms in your area. By streaming the Gathering 2022 worship & speaker sessions and using the Leadership Kit as your guide, you’ll be empowered to host a Gathering! How will YOU join them for Gathering 2022? You matter, Mama. Your baby matters. Your story matters. If this day is difficult for you, for any reason, be extra kind and soft with yourself. Sending lots of love and wishes for a gentler Mother's Day than expected to all feeling tender from loss. |
