Connections: Peer Support
Connections is an online directory where people who are living with suicidal thoughts and feelings, including those who have survived attempts,
can connect with others who have been there for support in their journey of recovery. Connections peer support volunteers serve as supportive listeners
and, if helpful, share their experience of recovery and suicidal intensity. Connections is a network for communication and remote-only informal support that
is driven by the individuals and peer supporters themselves. It is not a full-time service and peer supporters are not mental health service professionals.
Connections peer supporters are friendly volunteers– they are not working as professional treatment providers and should not be relied upon as a primary
source of care in urgent situations. If you are in a crisis , and/or if you are experiencing intense urges or thoughts of harming yourself now, contact a suicide prevention hotline in your country right away. In the USA, call 1-800-273-8255 or select the chat service. Another option in the USA is the Crisis Text Line.
Text HOME to 741-741 to get started. In the event of a medical emergency, i.e. if you or someone you know is in the process of a suicide attempt,
call the emergency service of the country you are located right away (Dial 911 if you are in the USA).

Griefhab Facebook Group
Griefhab, facilitated by Samantha Ruth, is a place to heal. It is not a place to judge how anyone else here heals. It’s a place to feel, share, vent,
grow, learn, listen, heal, and be. There are services for everything else out there: addiction, eating disorders, cancer, depression, you name it. But not loss.
Not grief. Utilize this group however it will best meet your needs. Sit back and observe. Someone else’s story will help you. Share if you’re comfortable,
and help yourself and others. Connect with this community who understands what you’re going through. You’re not alone. We’re here to support each
other, every step of the way. Samantha is there to support you, each and every step. She knows what it feels like to be unable to breathe, unable to
sleep but so completely exhausted. You’ll get through this. We’ll get through this. Together.

Murder-Suicide Loss Network
The Murder-Suicide Loss Network offers peer-led virtual support groups to thier members along with a member's space for survivors to connect on their website. If you are a survivor who has lost one or more people to murder-suicide, they are sorry you had to look for them, but we're glad you found them. You are not alone. After a murder-suicide loss, you may feel devastated, isolated, and stigmatized. This group was founded to provide hope and community for those experiencing life after this rare type of loss, which, unfortunately, is an everyday occurrence in the United States. The loss of multiple people after this type of suicide loss is incredibly complex to navigate. This stands true if you feel more connected to the victim, perpetrator, or both. If you identify as a survivor of this type of loss, or have faced this loss and aren’t sure how you identify now, we provide a supportive circle to explore healing within. They welcome all survivors of murder-suicide loss, regardless of their relationship to those who died. They emphasize welcoming all kinds of survivors of this type of loss as they understand, for many people, you cannot “choose sides.” Their objective is to leave participants with a tool, skill, connection, or new perspective to help them move toward their healing goals. Survivors include, but are not limited to, the following circumstances: Attempted murder-suicide survivors, child and step-child loss, in-law loss, friend loss, parental and/or step-parental loss, sibling and/or step-sibling loss, spouse, ex-spouse, partner or ex-partner loss, and witnesses of murder-suicide with or without direct connections to the victim and/or perpetrator. The group meets via Zoom at various dates and times and typically holds two support groups per month. If you would like to become a member and attend meetings, fill out the contact form at: https://www.murdersuicidelossnetwork.com/contact Other inquires can be emailed to: [email protected] Murder-Suicide Loss Resource Articles: “Breaking the silence as a survivor of murder-suicide loss” by Brittany Noble McCarthy “I’m finally ready to talk about how my parents died,” by an anonymous daughter |
