Camp Erin

​What is Camp Erin? Children and teens ages 6 to 17 attend a weekend camp experience that combines grief
education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities. Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving. Additional services are offered to support the whole family outside of the
camp weekend. The retreat weekend will help bereaved youth share their grief experiences in creative ways through
art projects, time to talk and share, outdoor games and challenge courses, participate in memorial activities and 
even share a campfire experience! 
Camp is FREE to all campers through generous support and donations from local corporations and other area organizations. Parents or guardians must complete an application for each child or teen
who would like to attend. Applications are accepted until all available spaces are filled. ​Space is limited, so
please return the completed application as soon as possible. Please note that any ​camper who has attended
camp in ​the past will be considered after all spaces are offered to new campers. ​

Camp Courage - June 24-27, 2024

Central Oregon
Clear Mourning and the Hanai Center have partnered to host this 4 Day Summer Camp for children and teens who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for children ages 5-12 to navigate their grief journey, Camp Courage offers a range of activities led by trained counselors and volunteers, including music, art, yoga, outdoor activities, and movement to name a few. Kids will be a part of small groups and large, inside and out, with snacks, breakfast and lunch served each day. Camp Courage has provided invaluable support and guidance for Central Oregon kids for years.  Local Oregon agencies and volunteers make this completely free-to-attend camp possible.

​Camp HOPE for Kids 2025

Camp HOPE is a Wisconsin-based free weekend bereavement camp, open to grieving youth ages 5-18. 
Through playing, sharing, and being together in a camp setting with peers and staff who know the pain, 
the children and teenagers realize that the emotions they feel are a normal part of grief. What is happening
to them happens to others everywhere, and at Camp HOPE, their pain is understood and shared. Campers
will be captivated by the picturesque setting of the campsite, which features individual cabins, dining, and
shower facilities. Each camper will be housed in small groups of similar-aged campers with three or more volunteer counselors. The camp is a 400-acre wildlife refuge with a 45-acre private lake that provides each
camper with ample opportunity to enjoy nature. The Wisconsin Lions Camp is within easy driving distance from all parts of the state. Camp HOPE rents the Wisconsin Lions Camp (3834 County Road A, Rosholt, WI) in central Wisconsin, two miles east of Rosholt and sixteen miles northeast of Stevens Point.

Camp Rosey 2025

Camp Rosey is a free-of-charge summer experience for our sacred youth, created to support healing through
grief and loss, hosted by the Tahoma Indian Center from June 13–15, 2025.

Two healing components: Healing Camp & Youth Summer Camp (Ages 7–17)

Camp Zoe

Camp Zoe Grief Camp offers a FREE and nurturing environment for kids ages 4-17 who have experienced
the death of a loved one. Our camp combines fun activities with therapeutic support to help young

Friday, June 27th: Family dinner, orientation, group introductions, and light activities from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Saturday, June 28th: A full day of activities for campers starting at 8:30 AM, focusing on healing, remembrance, and building connections.
Families are invited back at 3:30 PM for a closing activity of fun and remembrance.

Comfort Zone Camp 
Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization that transforms the lives
of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver.
Their programs are free of charge and include confidence building activities and age-based support
groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Comfort Zone’s programs are offered to
children ages 7-17, and their families for the family programs, plus they offer young 
adult programs for
18-25 year olds. Held year-round across the country, their primary locations are

Ohana Oasis logo
Ohana Oasis
Ohana Oasis provides healing and restoration to bereaved parents through free, week-long
retreats on the Hawaiian island of Kauai and supportive, lifelong connections. The Ohana Oasis
retreat is available to participants free of ​charge regardless of income. Our objective is to create
​a healing ​and joyful experience for parents that is not clouded by financial concerns.


Due to challenges related to the pandemic their in-person retreats have been on hold, but
they have put together a virtual retreat experience, which will potentially allow them to
serve so many more parents than they otherwise could have. They'll be launching their
inaugural virtual retreat for up to ten parents soon. It’ll be a combination of videos,
at-home worksheets, and weekly virtual gatherings capped with a weekend stay-cation
the whole cohort takes at the same time.

Sibling Strong Retreats 
Sibling Strong Retreats (SSR) is a sanctuary for adults grieving the loss of a brother or sister. With a mission to provide a healing and supportive environment,
the retreats offer participants the opportunity to connect with others who understand the unique journey of sibling loss. Through a variety of enriching
​activities and peer support share sessions, guests are guided in navigating their grief and honoring the memory of their loved ones. The vision of Sibling Strong Retreats is to cultivate a space of solace and solidarity, where attendees feel empowered to embrace life after loss and draw strength from shared experiences.


Sibling Strong Retreats (SSR) are 3-night, peer-based grief support retreats created specifically for adults who have lost a sibling. These retreats are not
therapy but are grounded in best practices for peer support. Through guided discussions, outdoor adventures, and shared reflection, participants build
connection, resilience, and community. Each retreat includes activities like hiking, kayaking, or yoga—designed to gently challenge and support healing.


Who Can Attend?
Adults 21+ who have experienced the death of a sibling, regardless of when or how the loss occurred.

What’s Included?
Retreat registration covers three nights of lodging, nine meals, and all materials and activities. While transportation is not included,
airport transfers may be available depending on the location.

What to Expect:
Expect outdoor adventure, meaningful peer connection, and opportunities for reflection and growth.
Activities vary by retreat but may include hiking, rafting, biking, yoga, or ropes courses.

While We're Waiting: Faith=Based Retreats for Bereaved Parents
They currently host retreats in Arkansas, Oregon, Maryland, Alabama, Nevada, Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota, and Tennessee. These events allow bereaved parents from across the country to meet
and spend a weekend together. At these events, we share our stories with each other and pray for
one another. We discuss issues faced by bereaved, but believing, parents, and encourage each other
on the journey. Their retreats provide parents with a safe place to openly discuss their grief among
those who truly understand. There is no cost for any of these events; however, a voluntary love
​offering is taken to help offset the expense of hosting the retreat.
